Stream is a personal media player for Android provided by The 1 Studio. This Privacy Policy explains how The 1 Studio ("Stream," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the Stream app, the website at streamhome.app, and related support services.

Privacy at a glance

• Stream has no advertising and does not sell personal information.
• Your media files and personal media library are not uploaded to a Stream-operated media server.
• The website does not use behavioral analytics or advertising cookies.
• The app uses limited analytics, diagnostics, remote configuration, and purchase services as described below.
• Optional sources such as Google Drive, OneDrive, Aliyun Drive, Plex, Emby, SMB, and WebDAV are accessed only when you choose to connect them.

Information stored on your device

To provide its library and playback features, Stream stores app data on your device. Depending on the features you use, this may include source names and types, server addresses, folder paths, usernames, credentials or authorization tokens, media file names and identifiers, downloaded media, metadata, posters, playback progress, watch history, favorites, playlists, hidden items, subtitle and audio preferences, and app settings.

This information normally remains on your device. It is removed when you clear Stream's app data or uninstall the app, subject to Android device-transfer or backup settings controlled by you and your device or account provider.

Google Drive data

Stream offers two separate, optional Google Drive features. Each feature is used only after you authorize it.

Browse and play your Drive media

If you add Google Drive as a media source, Stream requests read-only access to your Drive. The app may access file and folder names, identifiers, hierarchy, metadata, and the contents of media files you choose to browse, stream, or download. This access is used only to display and play your media in Stream. The read-only permission does not allow Stream to modify or delete your user-visible Drive files.

Sync Stream configuration and library state

If you use Google Drive Sync, Stream stores a small backup in Google Drive's private application data folder. The backup may include a device identifier generated by Stream; source names and types; server addresses, usernames, and folder paths; selected library roots; media identifiers; playback progress and watch history; playlists; hidden items; track preferences; and app settings.

Passwords, access tokens, and refresh tokens are excluded from this sync backup. After restoring on another device, Stream may ask you to enter credentials or authorize connected accounts again.

Stream uses Google Drive data only to provide the Drive browsing, playback, download, backup, and restore features you request. We do not use Google Drive data for advertising, sell it, allow humans to read it except when required for security or law and permitted by Google policy, or use it to train generalized artificial intelligence or machine-learning models.

Stream's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Other media sources and connected services

When you connect another source, Stream communicates with that source to authenticate you and provide browsing, metadata, streaming, casting, or download features.

• SMB and WebDAV: Stream sends the server address and any credentials you provide directly to the server you choose.
• Plex and Emby: Stream uses account or server authorization information to list your libraries and play media from your selected server.
• OneDrive and Aliyun Drive: Stream uses the provider's authorization flow and APIs to browse and play media you select.
• Chromecast: When you cast media, playback information and a reachable media URL are sent to the selected Cast device and may pass through services operated by Google.

Stream stores the credentials or authorization tokens needed for these connections on your device. They are not included in Google Drive Sync. Each provider may independently process account, device, network, and request data under its own terms and privacy policy.

Media metadata

Stream uses The Movie Database (TMDB) to identify movies and television programs and retrieve titles, descriptions, artwork, cast information, genres, and other metadata. Search terms derived from file names or titles, TMDB identifiers, language preferences, and network information may be sent to TMDB. Your media files are not sent to TMDB.

This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. See the TMDB Privacy Policy.

Analytics, diagnostics, and configuration

Stream uses Firebase services to understand whether core app flows work, diagnose failures, and configure selected app experiences.

• Google Analytics for Firebase: The app records limited events such as starting or completing source setup, library scan outcomes, playback milestones, paywall views, and purchase or restore completion. Event parameters may include source type, platform, normalized result or error categories, counts, and durations.
• Firebase Crashlytics: Release builds may send crash reports, stack traces, app version, device and operating-system information, and related diagnostics after the device has a validated internet connection.
• Firebase Remote Config: The phone app fetches configuration values used to select an available subscription offering or promotion.

Our custom analytics parameters are designed not to include file names, media titles, media identifiers, server addresses, URLs, file paths, account identifiers, email addresses, credentials, authorization tokens, or raw exception messages. Firebase may also process app-instance identifiers, device information, IP-derived information, and other data described in Privacy and Security in Firebase.

We do not use this information for third-party advertising.

Purchases and subscriptions

Purchases are processed by Google Play. Stream uses RevenueCat to retrieve offerings, validate purchases, restore purchases, and determine subscription entitlement. Google Play and RevenueCat may process an anonymous app user identifier, purchase token, product and transaction information, subscription status, app and device information, and network information. Stream does not receive your full payment-card details.

Support communications

If you email support, we receive the email address, message, and any information you choose to include. We use it to respond, troubleshoot, prevent abuse, and maintain an appropriate support record. Do not send passwords, authorization tokens, or private media files in support messages.

How we use information

We use information only as reasonably necessary to:

• provide media browsing, library, playback, download, casting, sync, and subscription features;
• authenticate connections you choose to add;
• preserve your settings and playback state;
• measure whether important app features work without collecting the names or contents of your media;
• diagnose crashes, reliability problems, fraud, or abuse;
• provide support and communicate policy or service changes; and
• comply with applicable law and enforce our rights.

How information is shared

We do not sell or rent personal information. Information may be shared:

• with service providers described in this Policy when needed to provide a feature you request;
• with a media server, cloud drive, Cast device, or other destination you choose;
• when you direct us or consent to the sharing;
• when reasonably necessary to protect users, the public, Stream, or our legal rights; or
• when required by applicable law, legal process, or a valid government request.

Retention and deletion

On-device information remains until you remove it, clear Stream's app data, or uninstall the app, subject to device backup settings. Offline downloads can be removed in Stream.

Google Drive Sync data remains in your private Drive application data until it is replaced or deleted. You can revoke Stream's Google access from your Google Account connections. To delete the hidden sync backup, open Google Drive settings, choose Manage apps, find Stream, and choose the option to delete hidden app data.

Analytics, diagnostic, Remote Config, purchase, and transaction information is retained by the applicable service provider according to its settings, legal requirements, and privacy policy. Support communications are kept only as long as reasonably needed for support, security, recordkeeping, and legal obligations.

You may contact us to request access to or deletion of information that we control. Because Stream generally does not operate user accounts or a personal media backend, we may need an app-instance, purchase, or support identifier to locate applicable provider records, and we may not hold information that directly identifies you.

Your choices

• You can decline or revoke access to a connected cloud or media service. Features that depend on that service will stop working.
• You can remove individual sources, offline downloads, and local library data in the app.
• You can clear app data or uninstall Stream to remove local information, subject to Android backup behavior.
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions through Google Play. Uninstalling the app does not itself cancel a subscription.
• You can contact us about applicable privacy rights, including access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection. These rights vary by location and may be subject to legal exceptions.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. Connections to internet services generally use transport encryption where supported by the destination. Some local-network sources may use protocols or addresses you configure without transport encryption. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International processing

Firebase, Google Play, RevenueCat, and other providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Their privacy policies describe their transfer safeguards and processing locations.

Children's privacy

Stream is a general-audience media player and is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum age required by local law. We do not knowingly request personal information directly from children. If you believe information from a child has been collected in a manner that requires parental consent, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy as Stream changes. We will post the revised Policy at this URL and update the date above. If a change materially affects how Google user data is used, we will provide additional notice and request consent when required.
